Idea to Innovation

A novel acoustic foam was developed by Polytechnique Montreal in response to the needs of the aviation_x000D_ industry. The thermoset polymeric open-cell foam shows excellent acoustic absorption coefficient in broad_x000D_ frequency range, and particularly at low frequencies. Further, is light and mechanically strong. The foams_x000D_ mechanical properties are attractive for applications in aircraft engines, flooring systems and fuselage. The_x000D_ fabrication process is simple and reliable. Acoustic specialists in the aeronautics and the building construction_x000D_ fields have recognized the potential of the proposed product and a provisional patent has been filed. The_x000D_ companies approached are welcoming this unexampled multifunctional technology with high potential for_x000D_ commercialization, and are calling for further testing and improvements._x000D_ The purpose of this pro
