Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada · Contribution program

TI-Can Networks

The 2024 Fall Economic Statement allocated $29.2 million for the Talent for Innovation Canada (TI-Can) pilot initiative to attract, train, and deploy research and development (R&D) talent to key sectors to conduct advanced technology road mapping for Canadian firms. The initiative would also connect graduate students and post-graduate fellows with companies to assist in the implementation of technology roadmaps while benefiting from training opportunities. Aligning with the Government of Canada?s economic priorities, the TI-Can pilot would initially focus on four strategic sectors employing dual-use technologies/applications: electric vehicles (EVs) and next-generation mobility infrastructure; clean growth and technology; biomanufacturing and biosciences; and, microelectronics and information and communication technologies (ICTs).
